First time ever taking car to service?
So it is my first time ever taking any car for service at a dealer. So I have a 07 SI sedan and the maintenance light just turned on. I was wondering, can I take my car to any dealer for maintenance...is there any negotiating involved...? Basically what should I expect and the process and how long it will take? Thank you in advance
Is it your maintenance light (the one that looks like a wrench) or your check engine light? If it's your maintenance light then you might just need an oil change in which case you might not need to go to the service department at all. And if you decide to go then there's no negotiating that should be necessary.
Check your oil life percentage and see if it's below 20%. If so it will trigger your maintenance light.

It has reached 15% and yes the wrench light did turn on. I was wondering is the oil all that has is needed to be changed and will Honda do this for free?

no, the dealership will not do the oil change for free. all you do is go to the service department and be like "I need an oil change". walla, they change your oil.
its that simple. Well if im not mistakening my dealer I believe mentioned that my first oil change is free so I will have to check into that

the only way ur first oil change will be free is if they told u when u first bought ur car...u or the dealership might of made a deal with you saying "if you pay this much for the car then you will get your first free oil change, sound deading or other stuff added on later on"
