Default New rider looking buy an R6, have a few questions

New rider? yeah
R6? not really.
I have recently taken the msf course and have already bought my first motorcycle here it is:

Paid $800 and it has extremely low mileage/great condition, what do you guys think?

Here comes the motorcycle noob question: I have done an oil change today in preparation for actually getting it on the street soon. i changed the filter and used mobil1 10w-40. i have read somewhere that car oils are not good for wet clutches on motorcycles? All i want to know is whether this oil i have put in today will damage the motorcycle and should be drained.

Thanks for the input!!!

BTW, insurance and gear coming soon!

As long as the oil does not say "Energy Conserving," you are in the clear.

Great lookin' bike!!

Nice bike. My first bike was a Kawasaki KZ750 that was given to me by my uncle. The KZ is a stout bike, and should provide you reliable transportation for years to come.

I like the paint, the stripes remind me of the old astros jerseys...

The thing looks great, congrats on the purchase!

I run Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5w-40 (blue jug) in my 1978 CB550 with no clutch slipping issues or leaks.

A lot of people run it with no complaints, its marketed almost as a "all purpose synthetic oil" (cars, motorcycles, diesels, boats etc.) and is boatloads cheaper than the "motorcycle formulated" synthetic oils (which they didnt have in 1983 anyway, lol).
