Default D16Y8 Question

I was woundering what kind power gains I could expect from an aftermarket cam, any brand. I have a short ram intake, and a header on my d16y8. I searched and couldnt find out gains from stage one cams, anyone know? Thanks

this can not be answered as every engine and every aftermarket part produce different gains.. you would be best off calling the manufactures of the products you wish to buy and ask for documentation of their power gains.. and get a baseline dyno to compare to after you put on the parts you want.

most of the people on here will tell you to boost it. stock honda interenals can handle up to 10PSI before they blow up. check out http://www.d-series.org/ if you want quick noticable power that is the way to go if you want to keep the d series

I want to know if anyone has had luck, noticeable power gains, putting an aftermarket cam in a N/A D16Y8. I was going to buy one but wanted to see if its worth 200 bucks, so anyone with one in there N/A y8 let me know. thanks

a stage one isnt worth much at all since its not much different than stock. go to d-series.org and read up in the n/a section. bisimoto makes some great regrinds for sohc's. crower stage two is supposed to be pretty decent as are the zex cams. you cant expect a lot since you arent upping your compression ratio, but you should be able to notice the difference. a guy ive talked to is putting down over 125whp and hundred something wtq with a crower stage two, intake, header and exhaust untuned.

I've got a Stage 2 Crower and valve train in my Y8. OBD2b to OBD1 conversion, the usual I/H/E and tuned with Crome.

Link below is my dyno sheet.
