it DOES work BUT only for a little while and it starts again. You can also try thicker oil like 10w-40. it will slow down burning. really the only way to stop the oil burning is an engine rebuild.</TD></TR></TABLE>
maybe i will give that stuff a shot do they sell it all parts stores

Is it leaking any oil at all? If so fix the leak. If not, rebuild the engine (new rings and valve seals pretty much take care of it all....a whooping $160 at the honda dealer and a days worth of work).

Since I have owned my 94 gsr (3 years and 4 months), I have ran full synthetic oil in it every 3000 miles. Generally I use Castrol Syntec 10W30. My car have used oil pretty much since the day I bought it, so no, it does not stop the burning of oil. As for the slowing burning oil I would assume not, but I have never run conventional oil in my car to find out...I've almost got my newly rebuilt motor back in the car so hopefully I don't have to worry about that anymore though.

if anything, synthetic will burn faster. if you want to slow it, run thicker oil. i tried 20w-50 for awhile and it really did slow down the burning but that **** is like molasses. i switched back to the recommended 5w-30 and just keep topping off whenever it needs it.
if i don't hit vtec, it does not burn a drop. free oil hookup ftw.

i didnt read the replies but how much oil are you burning within 1000 miles? check it..
if its a lot of oil that has burned it might be piston rings (you would see white/ blue smoke from your tailpipe)
or your valve guide seals (stem seals) you might see blow by on your bumper

I agree with this guy, i mashed through three tanks of gas just to test oil consumption, and burned almost two quarts of oil, drove it and kept it out of vtec for three more tanks, and was not even a 1/8 quart low....

so do you think i have a oil consumption problem???? i thought i was doing ok after i i was gentle on the throttle for the last couple tanks and saw next to no oil loss... and im still getting 32 mpg on the highway.....?

How much burning are we talking? Have you been checking your oil to see?

No, that is not a significant amount of oil consumption.
