Default Can i check for oil leakage past the rings this way? (kinda long...But I REALLY need help here, plea

So i rebuilt my GSR bottom end about 105 miles ago and im getting alot smoking under deceleration in gear and after about 6k rpm WOT. Its got a b16 head with gsr cams and ARP headstuds with an OEM headgasket. Compression was 205 across the board, but there was also a decent oil leak from between the head and the block under the dizzy (no it wasnt leaking from anywhere else). And there was oil getting into the coolant as it was milky white. So i went ahead and pulled the head and rotated the crank so all 4 pistons were in the middle of the cylinders, and filled them with oil to sit overnight, if no oil is lost it wouldnt be a ring problem right? Also when i pulled the head, there was a slight amount of oil sitting on top of all four pistons. Im really thinking the head is warped as its been on several bottom ends in the last 3 years with no resurfacing. Any advice or info or anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

What you need to do is check how round the cylinders are, and make sure no rings were damaged on install. The head if it has been handled and swapped a lot it likely has scatches and blemishes on the surface. Def a good idea to resurface it. Make sure and tell the machine shop it uses an MLS gasket so the surface should be like a mirror.

Just pouring oil in the cylinders wont really tell you if your rings are bad. During engine operation, your talking about thousands of psi available to push oil past the rings as opposed to atmospheric pressure (14.7)
While you have it torn down this far,you might want to go ahead and pull the pistons just to inspect the rings(position, etc).
oil and coolant mixing is definately not a good sign. It would have helped to do a leakdown test before you pulled the head.

Ya whe i honed it i checked for egging in the cylinders and there was none. I know i should have done a leak down on it, but unfourtunately i dont know anyone with a tester and i cant afford to buy one right now.

I replaced the valve stem seals less than 2000 miles ago. Yes it was a new headgasket, and the block only has about 90k on it and was never beat on, the only reason it came out of the car is cause it was totaled and the head was sold off.

This is the side that touches the block:

so i put oil in all four cylinders and let em sit for 24 hours and and no oil seeped past the rings, if it did it wasnt a noticeable amount. So i thought id try gas since its alot thinner. So pretty much if theres any gas in em when i wake up in the morning id be pretty happy.

Im not rying to **** on your testing methods, but gasoline will probably evaporate overnight and will skew your results. Plus you should consider opeating tempature of the pistons, rings, etc. As the engine operates at say ~200 degrees, everything will grow slightly and decrease the clearances...
Possibly the machine shop didnt give the correct finish on the cylinders when they honed it?
Do you have/can you get a machinists straight edge so you can check both mating surfaces for straightness?

What is up with the die grinder marks on the head? That is probably where your decent oil leak is coming from...
