Manifold and ECU Question
I have seen some Si Manifolds and Ecus for cheap, so I was wondering if there would be any kind of benefits of putting Si intake/throttle body and ECU on an HF? Sorry if it seems dumb, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks.
I realize I;ll get worse gas milage, but thats to be expected since this is the best gas mileage CRX. But would there be benifits from putting Si ECU and throttle body/intake manifold? Is the throttl body or intake runners bigger on an Si?

are you serious? at most 5hp. its an 8 vavle and most likely he still has the hf tranny which is good... if he wants to hit 200mph. leave it stock until you get a motor. my .02 plus your motor won't be able to handle high revs like the si or the dx, ITS AN HF!

yes the si has bigger runners but not much gains just drop in an zc with an si tranny and ecu. its drop in if you use your hf axles you don't even have to swap hubs. instantly double your hp for less then 800 and still get 35 mpg

Thanks SFlCrx, thats alot better info. Im on a really tight budget and I was wary of engine swaps, since most I would have to swap out the hubs. But if if I can retain the hf axels and hubs I'll start looking for some ZC's and and Si tranny. Thanks.
no problem. since you have an hf it is an easy swap. get the sohc sc form hmotorsonline. and get an si trans try classifeds. also you need an ecu pm6 will work fine. but if you use your hf trans and do the swap it will feel like a dx with *****. i reccomend at least a dx trans.
I have an Hf and i took off and compared the manifolds. The runner openings are so small and TB is like a golf ball size. The si block ports are bigger than HF block ports so its a mismatch. Si manifold to small ported HF block makes no sense. Just swap the motor. Tight budget equals 92-95 d16z6 sohc vtec. Drop in since its also a d series block, You can use your HF tranny although we all know it will slow you down cause it revs very low.
I had no choice but to swap to b16. Happy i did it i love it!
I was doing a d16z6 but wanted the SI tranny and with cost of motor was almost b16 price so i did the b16.

well if you put a d16z6 in there you would have to convert to obd1. and hf trannys don't rev low the gears are long as hell. my buddy has the hf trans in his turboed d16a6 making about 300 to the wheels he uses it to help get traction also he perfers top speed over accelaration
not me 130mph is fast enough for me
