Default Those with JDM Fronts - Have you ever gotten pulled over?

I am about to pick up a DC2 with a JDM front, but know that the JDM fronts are not DOT approved and are technically illegal in the states.

Just out of curiousity, but has anyone gotten pulled over for having a JDM front? If so, where? And what happened? Did you try to fight it? Or did you just replace with a USDM front?

Any comments/thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Never gotten pulled over for mine. I do get a lot of looks and thumbs up when driving though.

truthfully speaking...
if you keep ur jdm front'd dc looking "clean"...
i don see a reason why a cop would pull you over just for having it

i don even think half the cops in the nation know that a jdm front is illegal

u should be good to go...
imo

Only time i've gotten pulled over was for no front plate...i doubt any of the cops in this area even know it's not the original...they've probably got better things to do than find out anyhow...lol

I mistaked an Accord for a JDM front end Integra a while back, it was terrible...

So far not yet, but when it was foggy here I turned on my headlights and cops seem to take a second look at the yellow lights of my headlight.

Sorta off topic, but can the yellow light near the middle of our headlights get us pulled over? My friend said yes, and cops seem to take a second look at my car, I'm sorta nervous ...by the way I live in California

All I had to read...

Seems like anything and everything can get you pulled over there...

Yes I have been pulled over. Twice. The first time because I didn't have a front plate on ( the cop didn't care...in fact he complimented me on how the front end looked....and the fact that my **** wasn't riced out ). The second time....I was in the middle of putting my seat belt on after leaving my house ( I know I know....but oh well...) and he saw me doing 7 over the speed limit

Neither time was I pulled over just because it was a JDM front end.

Never. JUST MAKE SURE:

Have a front plate on. Here in CA, that is the #1 probable cause for a cop to pull you over....

Don't mind the paint... Saving up for a full paint job by the end of the year.

thanks. it looks like those who got pulled over were because of anything other than the front end? if so, that's a good thing to hear
i definitely want to pick up this dc. db8 to be exact
my only concern is the carbon fiber hood...definitely think an oem hood would be much more subtle and wont stand out...anyways, would love to see more posts
thanks all!

If you ever get pulled over in CALI and get sent to REF you don't have to go. Just pay for the fine.

After paying fine i was still asked if i took it and told i wasnt supposed to drive
until i did, given it was the same cop i dont really know.

once you pay the fine it should be out the system unless you get another ref ticket.

Because the JDM bumper reinforcement bar is uber thin and does not offer much when it comes to a front end collision.

I actually want to do a S2K projector retrofit on a pair.
Rumor has it that the OEM JDM HID projectors are the same as the S2K projectors, less the left hand/right hand aiming.
