Painting stock tails?
i havent used that paint before. i used stained glass paint made by krylon. it comes in a spray can. then i shot a coat of automotive clear onto it. its holding up really well. here's a pic
u have not used that paint but i have painted stock and clear tails before and they turned out pretty good looking i have pics of the clears dont know what happend to the stock pics, the stock tails i used the krylon stuff it is dark on stock tails. On the clears i used some stuff from a shop around here its all in jap. so i could not tell you the name of it...
Just use tons of light coats and do it in a clean area. You dont have to use a clear coat, i tried it and it made the paint crack..

I wanna see what it will look like when stock tails are painted. Im sure they will get a lot darker, but i wanna see before i do it. Also, do you happen to know the kind of krylon you used, is there a name for the paint?
simply "krylon stained glass paint"
i found it at a craft store. you can order it online but it will cost much more with hazard material shipping, etc

Here is a picture of the stock tails on my old CRX
Sanded the taillights down with 400 wet/dry sandpaper and cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Sprayed them with Testor's Candy Apple Red Transparent paint and followed with a clear coat. Used a hairdryer to help speed up the drying process. Then I resanded the outer edges, taped off the inside portion and had them shot to match the paint color of the CRX.

i wonder if they have a black-ish color stained glass paint? i wanna go kinda knight ryder style with mine and all black..
and the point of painting the stock tails is to give it more of the JDM look just like people painting their stock corner lights all amber. it just makes it look a bit different.
Nice muddin CRX
.
Those look really good. I was thinking about painting some carbon fiber altezzas to look like that. Looks good tho...

I really like those painted altezzas! Thats definitely a good way to save them. They look different, almost JDM.
I might buy a set of altezzas (for cheap) and paint them, or should i paint my 91tails?

is it ture that painting you mirror with a LIGHT...and I stress light coat of that paint in blue, will help dull reflection of those bastards who leave their hight be on at night..I heard that OEM mirror for BMW, MB,etc have a slight blueish hue for that reason...can anyone verify this.
never heard of that. my suggestion for tailgaters is to get some big *** spotlights underneath the rear bumper and when someone forgets his lights are on bright right behind you, flip the switch and remind him that two can play at that game!!
if you live in canada and you want to do this and cant find the paint, try canadian tire, i went there today and they actullay had it, i was quite surprised
Why do you wanna paint the amber turn signals red??? Leave them amber, they are easier to see for drivers behind you because they stand out more than what red does.... Thats my opinion....
