Question: Can a 4th gen prelude use a 5th gen prelude power steering pump & hoses?
Hello I have a 4th gen prelude 1994 si with a JDM H22a motor & trans. The car does not have a power steering pump & wanted to ask if anybody knows if I can use a 5th gen prelude H22a4 power steering pump & hoses on my car. I think there interchangeable . Are the pulley diameters the same as well as bolt pattern on power steering pump so everything is plug & play? I have the exsisting power steering resevoir & rack pinion. Help fellas!
i think the most important thing is if your holes line up with the P/S hose.. its the fat one with the metal valve on the end? if the holes dont line up correctly u cant use it.. otherwise i'd say the p/s pump will do its job.
Alright well I'm going to to check it out this weekend to test fit it to make sure the three bolt holes line up with my cylinder head & that the hoses all fit correctly. Thanks & any additional input from anybody else would be greatly appreciated.
Well the verdict is in... A 5th gen 97-01 h22a4 power steering pump will not fit with a 4th gen 92-96 prelude power steering pump high pressure hose. The 5th gen pump will not bolt up to exsisting 4th gen high pressure hose to rack & pinion. Tried even swapping out the high pressure hose but, the 5th gen hose will not reach 4th gen rack & pinion to the 5th gen power steering pump. Have to give " Boarderx192 " a shout out for trying to make it happen. He's got plenty of 5th prelude parts for sale. Here's his link of for sale stuff:
