clicking/slapping when you break
i have had this problem for some time now. when ever i break (push the break about a 1/4in push) there is this clicking/slapping noise coming from the front left side of the car and you can feel it in the bottom of the car and break pedal. When you push the break further than a 1/4in the noise goes away. my local honda dealer has looked at it 6 different times and cant figure out what the problem is. they have replaced the entire front suspension (struts, shocks, bushings, arms, all that good stuff) rotors, calipers, rear break drums, and even has replaced the entire e-break system. they can still not figure out why this is happening. it seems to occur more when the car has been driven around for a while and has been stopping and going. like the break system is "warmed up".
if anyone has any ideas to what the might be the problem pleas let me know
thanks
kyle

i just got my car back from them a 7th time and they replaced the wheel hub.. they said it and the barring were warped along with the spindle? they said it was due to hitting too many pot holes.. i never drive my car over any so idk how that possible.
*the spindle is a big strong *** piece of steel and there i no way that pot holes could warp it. the only way is to have gotten in a big *** crash and i havnt done that
i swear the dealers are full of **** and know nothing about cars

the clicking noise is actually your front brake pads shifting. its totally common and normal on hondas for some reason.
if you want to experiment, back up your car and hit the brakes. then go forward and hit the brakes again. i guarantee you'll hear your pads shifting and make that click/pop noise.

honda didnt take my money... i didnt even have to pay for any of it.. they paid for parts, labor, a rental car and the gas for the rental.. haha looks like they waisted their own money

its just your brake pad shifting when your caliper punches it against the rotor... it's not a problem.
I have 5 lug with EP3-R calipers and it still does it.

Well, in that case, nevermind. lol
I have aftermarket pads... no problems here... I don't even remember having problems before though...hmmm.

i have never really figured it out to be honest. getting my car back for the 7th time it seems to have gone away. talk to ur honda dealership and ask them about it. have them check the rotors, calipers, rear break drums, grease the slide pins in the front and rear, clean the whole break system, and flush and put in new break fluid. the break fluid should be a clear/yellowish color depending on what type they use. it should never be black. thats bad for ur breaks. also they replaced my wheel hubs because one was slightly bent.. this was prob an unrelated problem but they also replaced my entire front suspension system because it was blown
all n all they basically waisted a **** ton of money on my car (it was all under warranty) because i guess its a common thing w/ civics but i beg to differ cause i have not had any problems yet.. i will let ya know if it comes back
