Default Should i swap my EK for an EP3?

Hello everyone,

I currently have a 2000 EK Civic H/B pretty much bone stock as my daily driver. And im looking at the EP as a replacement daily driver, because stock its a little quicker, not really many around, and so on and so forth. But im just wondering what people think, should i give up the EK for the EP? Thanks very much H/T.

I think it all depends on what your plans are for the car.

ek IMO is better looking, but the ep will be slightly quicker. k swap the ek for the best of both.

Also consider the miles on both the cars and also the condition of the cars. And which one would you rather have?

I love Honda hatches and I think the EK is the most disgusting one made in the last 20 years. The tails are nasty and the rear glass angle is too steep. Put a spoiler on it and it's a foot and a half from the end of the car. I hate EK hatches.

If u like the look of the EP then i would go with the EP. Stock for stock its a much better daily driver around town imo, better low end power then the EK but u will suffer a little at the pumps as well. I have had both a stock EK hatch and a modded B16 Del Sol and i like driving the current EP3 around alot more the any of the others because of the power difference low and and it feels like a much more solid car too.

^haha, just what I was thinking....

BUT, I love both the EK and EP. For me, I would probably stick with the EK because of mpg (unless I'm mistaken that the EP's get good gas mileage as well?) and a K swap sounds like a fun project in the future.

stock vs stock and used ONLY as a daily, id say get the EP3. but if you plan on modding in the future, stick w the EK like people said and do a K-swap.

Everyones suggesting a K swap into an EK like its no issue. Im sorry I just get annoyed of people suggesting K swaps which are in no way practical when it comes to older hondas.

I agree also that it depends on your plans. For a daily, you can just stick with the EP and get i/h/e/reflash and some suspension mods and itll be great. For speed and price the EK is more practical though. For some reason I dont like the look of EKs either. The EP is pretty ugly too in bone stock form.

No one said a k swap would be cheap or easy. Expect to pay a nice little penny and have your work cut out for you. For a DD, get what ever car is more appealing to you.IMO, Or look around, you might find a good deal on a RSX-s for close to the same as you would be paying for the ep3.

Because the ep3 can easily overcome the minivan look (wheels/ctr spoiler) but the ek will never overcome it's horrible hatch angle and tail lights.

If you have the Ek, just stick with it. if its a just a daily, it dont really matter. if you plan on modding get an rsx. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by iVteC_PoWeR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">DC &gt; all</TD></TR></TABLE> Yup!

Ok I drive both,....
I have an EK with a Boosted gsr, and a EP with a k20a2 swap, and I love them both. The EP is my daily, with ac and all the goodies, and my EK is the weekend/race car, with all the power, and some goodies. If you buy an ep make sure it has warranty!

GOOD and BAD:

EP
THE BAD:
They car is not to easy to work on (no space) and parts are not cheap. Also good luck finding one in the Junkyard.

THE GOOD:
Realy confortable, decent gas milage, safer, cheaper with insurance (abs) and you don't have to worry about some punk stealing it because he wrecked his car the night before.

EK
THE BAD:
They get STOLEN all the time!!!!! Not as confortable, and its an older car. No power windows (unless you install them) and did I mention the getting stolen part?

THE GOOD:
CHEAP parts that you can find everywere, and easy to work on.

C-O-M-F-O-R-T-A-B-L-E Confortable is not a word... But, hes right. Earlier Hondas seem to get jacked quite often, and it sucks so bad to have **** taken off your car after you put alot of work into it, or even worse get the whole car stolen. Im still a huge fan of the EK tho, and the way the Ep looks really turns me off to it. All-in-all, it matters what your personal taste is and what would suit you better for what you need your car for. Good luck in your decision.
