01 Accord CD/Cassette Stopped Working, Yet Radio Tuner Still Works?
I have a 2001 Accord Ex with the factory 6 disc double din radio. About a month ago my battery died, so I ended up replacing it. When I turned it on from there my radio asked for the code, so I typed that in and was accepted. And now only my tuner works. My cassette nor CD player act like they aren't even there. When I push the CD button, nothing happens, it just stays on tuner. I had 6 CD's in the changer before I changed the battery, and now none of the CD's on the display light up, and when I push the LOAD or EJECT buttons it also does nothing. All it will let me do is only things associated with the AM/FM tuner. I checked fuses under the dash and they are all fine, didn't think they would put the tuner and CD on seperate legs, but was worth checking? Didn't know if anyone has encountered this problem before, or has done any servicing on these radios. Didn't know if there was some kind of internal fuse before I went trying to disassemble it. Please, any help would be appreciated
My 2001 accord coupe did the same thing. Changed the battery, but the code in. now all that works is the am/fm. When I press load on the cd player it doesn't even say "LOAD" on the screen. I talked to the honda dealer and they want $1200 + labor to put another one in. They said they could send it off and maybe repair it, but can't tell me how much it will cost. I'm very frusterated. Please if you find out how to fix this let me know. Sorry you are having the same trouble.
