i was planning on getting a custom 2.5" mandrel bending piping with a magnaflow muffler, went to a local shop in north Atlanta. supposedly this is the only shop around that does mandrel bending around here. You will not believe the prices he told me.

$678 - alum 2.5" piping plus the cost of muffler

$1275 - stainless steel 2.5" piping plus the cost of muffler

I'd jus get a catback exaust with that money...

 

why dfo you need mandrel bends??? do you eve nknow what they are??? ask around tuner shops for a reputable shop and go to it...get pinch bends you don't need mandrel

 

yes i know what mandrel piping it..i called about 20 shops they all use crush piping

 

so get it.......your not gonna be doing any big builds..ill tell you that much using just 2 1/2 inch I paid like 500 for my 3'' crush bent exhaust and the muffler and the resonator from a good shop...save your money on the bends...cant nobody see em anyway lol

 

well after reading around here mos people recommended mandrel bending over crush because of it advantages..i think i'm going to buy kteller piping and have a shop weld it for like $50 **** thats $350 max and about the resonator do i really need for with a magnaflow?

 

a resonator helps///generally speaking regardless of the exhaust setup you have it gets raspier the high in RPMS you go......but a resonator helps it at lower rpms by being a littler quiet

 

should i get the longest possible resonator? they go from 14" to 22"

 

I got a 18'' on mine but I aint gonna lie my car is LOOOoouuuuuDDDDD 3'' exhaust not cat FTW!!!! but when I turbo my car it'll be alot quieter....

 

mandrel bends will help but crush piping's not that bad... Unless you have a drag car what's a couple hundreths of a second?? yes it'll help but do you really wanna pay that much for an extra hundreths of a second? that would suck... it sux that you have to pay that much though I thought it was only like a 100 bucks err so...

i woulda smack that sumbitch in the face! i got header back stright pipe for $100 on my old crx. all mandrel. 2.25tho. my guy prob woulda charged around $200-300 for 2.5-3'

i looked at him, laughed and told him to drop the car and hand me back my keys, i was looking at http://store.racing-solutions.org/index.html what are the baisc pieces you need to go from the cat to the muffler?

 

the only reason they charge that much is because they are probably the only shop in the area doing the type of work. Just get crush bent exhaust and call it a day, save your money for other mods.
