Hey, all. I have a question about the weights of the different Honda engines and transmissions. I have searched, and I looked through the FAQ. I also hit Google for a little while, but didn't get much.

Does anyone know where I can find the weights of the different series of Honda engines? D-series, B-series (either B16 or B18), H-series, K-series?

In the FAQ thread, I found information on partially-built engines, and a little on transmissions. I also found the following numbers:

complete 1995 H22A1 drivetrain, minus the lower exhaust manifold, no accessaries other than the alternator: 475lbs.

d15b vtec weighed 306 pounds in the same condition

For short blocks:
D-series, just under 100 lbs
B16, 104 lbs
H22, 131 lbs (123 + 8 for balance shaft)

Transmissions:
B-series, 90 lbs
H-series, 95 lbs

Does anyone have data for a non-VTEC D-series engine or drivetrain (ideally D16A6), a cable-operated D-series transmission, or for the K-series engine that is getting to be a more popular swap these days and its transmission?

I'm waiting for someone to come and say an H22 is soooo heavy compared to a B series...cause we all know how heavy shelled aluminum components are lol.

CRX/Civic DX D15B2 - 208lbs (dry)
CRX/Civic Si D16A6 - 219lbs (dry)

JDM DOHC ZC - 232lbs (dry)

JDM B16A - 309lbs (wet)

88-91 CRX/Civic L3 D-series transmission - 63lbs

I had a d15b1 and swapped it with a d15b vtec. I still use my 4spd cable tranny, works fine.

 

D-Series cable transmission is around 63~lbs, hydraulic came in a little heavier at 67~. I've shipped both of these before.

Sorry for the kick, but I need to know for the courier. B16A wet, is that the complete swap inc tranny and shafts?
