Default ECU??????

i've been on this board for awhile now but never really posted. But i figured u guys were the best ppl to ask so here goes.........

i swapped in a d16y8 in my 90' CRX Si. i have also added a JRSC,centreforce clutch,10.4mm plug wires,blah blah blah..........

i was having a bit of detonation in the begining(I figured it was cus the JRSC was made for the d16a6). however i solved the prob by retarding the timing alot and upping the fuel on the JR auxilary FPR.

My question is will it have a better flow of fuel if i put in a ECU from a 90' teg? right now i'm runnin the stock CRX ECU and harness. i don't have a fuel pressure regulator or any fuel upgrades as of now(doing the full fuel system next).

so will it be ok cus the teg ECU is for a DOHC and i have a SOHC. jus wanted to know if it'll feed the engine more fuel.

sorry for it being so long but i need it to run rite TIA!!

what you really need is a higher volume fuel pump and a set of injectors.
high fuel pressure and retarded timing are just band-aid solutions to the real problem - not enough fuel.
I don't think a 90 teg ECU is going to help much.

i know i have to do the fuel system and honestly all i'm looking for at teh moment is a "band-aid" solution. so u think the teg ECU work do anything at all?

It might help a little, but as previosuly mentioned it's just a band aid solution. Get a nice high flow Holley fuel pump, and I've heard that 92-96 prelude injectors will work and provide a nice high flow... can anyone verify this??

Is your detonation part throttle or full throttle? JRSC's are known for this part throttle detonation problem... I always hear about it. Anyways, the 'Teg ECU shuld not hurt anything... look at all the guys switching from Pm6's to 89' TEG ECU's with their ZC's. All you'll get is a higher redline and slightly richer fuel maps, but I don't think they'll help that much.
