Default FAQ: OBD0-OBD1 Distributor Wiring

Ok, I know for a fact that there are a lot of misconceptions out there on which wires go to what. Every thread Ive looked at is filled with people saying that this wire goes to this and that wire goes to that, then another person comes in and says something completly different.

Others just buy the rywire harness, like I did, because there was so many people saying different things.

Well, I have access to alldata and Mitchelle and I looked at a 1990 CRX Si and compared it to a 1994 Acura Integra GSR.

This is a picture of the 1990 CRX Si distributor wire diagram.

This is how some of the sensors go into the ECU.

This is a GSR Distributor wire diagram

This is the ECU lay out. I couldnt find pics like the CRX diagrams, but this one is pretty good too.

Ok, so this is what I got out of all of that.
CRX----------GSR------------FUNCTION
BLK/YEL----- BLK/YEL------ IGNITION SWITCH
WHT----------YEL/GRN------ECU
BLU----------BLU------------TACHOMETER
BLU/GRN----ORN------------CYLINDER POSITION SENSOR
BLU/YEL-----WHT------------CYLINDER POSITION SENSOR
ORN---------BLU/GRN-------CRANK POSITION SENSOR
WHT---------BLU-YELLOW---CRANK POSITION SENSOR
WHT/BLU----WHT/BLU-------TOP DEAD CENTER
ORN/BLU----ORN/BLU-------TOP DEAD CENTER

After looking at those and other diagrams (which I can also provide if you want further information) that is the colors and matches I came up with. I really hope this helps out a lot of people, I sure wish I had this to look at before I bought the Rywire harness. I would have rather done it myself than buy something.

Obd0 to obd1 conversion
Obd0 obd1
Thickwhite--yellow/green
Thin white--white
Orange------orange
White/blu---white/blu
Blu/yellow--blu/yellow
Blu/green---blu/green

Thats interesting because if you look at the wire diagrams for each dizzy, and you match up the functions compared to the color of wires, my way works. But the colors for the cylinder position sensor and the crank position sensor are swapped. Your way makes sense because the colors match up, where as mine makes sense for the functions. Thats interesting.. hmmm

It is possible that alldata has the colors wrong. I will have to check mitchelle when I get the chance to see if their information is the same.

In the obd0 harness the thick white wire is in the loom by itself. It wrapped separate from the other wires. But I used this exact instructions and worked great

Well, I'm as confused as I was before. And the guy with the diagrams is now questioning himself... ...lol...

Im not questioning myself, im questioning the diagram. Aldata and mitchelle arent always 100% correct, same with all the other programs and books. If you look at the diagram I am right, but if you use common sence then the other way is right. Some colors do just match up. While others dont.

When I ordered my jumper from Rywire I told them my plans and they just gave me a schematic for my distributor conversion.

why doesn't everyone just soder and heat shrink some new OBD1 connectors onto your harness instead of buying the jumper?

Unless you guys are planning on going back/forth to OBD0/1, well what's the point?

get a chipped P28/P30/P75 and have your tuner make you an extra stock engine map.

No?

Thats all I did, but I just sodered them to the connectors on the dizzy not the harness. much easier and looks a lot nicer
