Accord station wagon question
did the wagon ever come with a stick? people call me strange, but for a couple years ive been wanting one, and i just started looking now, and havent found one thats a 5 speed.
The LX wagon did. I have a 1992 with factory 5 speed, but its been h22 swapped and more. Gonna sell it soon though, once my wifes lude is running again. in the 5th gen i THINK there were a few LX wagons with 5 spd too, but it was even less than the 4th gen.

Negatory, my 96 wagon is an LX 5 speed.
The only thing thats a pain in the *** about th 96/97 5 speed wagons is that they and the acura CL 5 speed are the only vehicles that share the same transmission gear ratios. It can be a real hassle trying to locate one when your differential takes a dump on you.

Like you, I was looking for a wagon stick and found it through cars.com located in Virginia Beach. I hopped on Southwest airlines one Sat. morning and was home in the Nashville TN area by the end of the day
. It's a white '94 5spd LX . The final ratio is slightly higher than the sedan on this year.

I too, have been interested in finding Accord Wagons that are manual. There was one on Craigslist here in the Bay Area that was quite cheap and had relatively low miles, AND was an EX. ala, i snooze, i lose.
How rare are the manuals on the wagons? They weren't on limited production, were they?

they were limited to as many as Honda felt they could produce and still turn a profit. they can standard with a manual, just like the coupes and sedans. the auto was an option.
most were autos due to the fact that they probably expected more women or perhaps men with children to be driving them.
BTW the final drive on the wagon tranny is the exact same as the one on the H series tranny.

I own one of the rarest combinations you will ever find. I have a 94 EX 5spd with a sunroof and it's NOT WHITE! Believe me this is rare! I also got it a few months ago with 70k on it in pretty good condition.
I also owned a 93 LX 5spd. If you look, you can find them but it takes patience. I spent 3 months looking online everyday for my 94 and when I found it, I jumped on it. If you snooze, you will lose!

i would say the factory made it more exclusive. you can swap any f or h series in the wagon and go from there.
the 4th gen had more sticks though. the older models got less popular with the concept. who wants a family car that was a manual. do what most of us have done if you can't find a wagon with a stick. convert it. sticks are a rare find so you have to get lucky. the swap wasn't that bad. i had no mechanical skills and i did it all by myself when i had time and in between my two jobs.

WILL A MANUAL TRANNY FROM A 94 ACCORD SEDAN ENGINE 2.2 I4 WORK WELL IN A 97 ACOORD STATION WAGON. IM CONVERTING THE WAGON FROM AUTO TO 5SPEED. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS IS A GOOD IDEA
