Sheeeeesh I need more HELPPPP AGHHHHHH!!!!!1
so I looked at the short shifter this morning from underneath and ive ran into a few problems,
- When I looked at it, it was resting on my exhaust pipe, theres a hole where it looks like something could have gone, but there isnt anything there to hold the shifter up just the pipe. Ive come to the conclusion this is why its so wobbly on me all the time, but i doubt it could be why im grinding into fourth, even though it felt like it this morning.
- there is a boot on the shifter, idk what it is, but its torn.... idk what i have to buy for it, but i hope its not expensive.
Next is the tranny fluid, im going to be changing it today, but i am getting synchromesh, where is the drain plug and the hole where i add the fluid into it? and how many cases are known of where synchromesh worked and helped the grinding?
I also have a overheating problem, it has a half fan, and half cut radiator.... but when i drive it will overheat unless I have the heater on?
Last is the tires.... i rotated them yesterday but i am broke as hell for 2 new 17s, but I was wondering, the 2 on the front are new, one on the back has tread, and the other one is a slick lol... although no steel belts are showing yet, how much life would you say i have left or miles to drive on? i looked the whole thing over and theres no steel showing yet.

Sounds like you've got a bunch of problems going on here.
Tires- You should change ASAP. Your stopping distance has increase by a ton.
Over heating - Need more info. When does it happen? All the time? Only when stopped? Is the fan turning on?
Shift - Not a ******* clue what you are talking about. Maybe some pictures will help.
Tranny - Will look to find a picture for you.

For your overheating problem, mine did the same trhing, try to do a compression test to see if u have a bad head gasket, if thats all good, try the thermostat.
and for your shifter, two 12mm bolts should hold it to the body
