Ok Guys (and few gals) here we go...
Ive had my Rex for about 2 1/2 years and I finally got around getting a decent motor in it. I installed my B16A and full DA brake set up myself and evrything functions great! the motor has better pull and better Power than my old SOHC ZC. But Ive had one problem... NO VTECH.
Im throwing one code... code 6... Coolant temp. Now here's the tricky part, Vtech worked PERFECTLY for about 2 days with no codes and it SCREEEEAAAAMED. But then after sitting for a night the code turned back on.
Now Ive replaced the Temp sensor on the side of the head but still throwing the code. Im looking to replace the one on the rear of the motor next. The wiring was done by my buddy RYAN over at RYWIRE.COM so I know thats not the problem.
But then one of my car friends out here suggested that my problem might be the dent in my oil pan. He explained that it changes the oil flow of the motor and then throws the code so Vtech wont "POP".
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Im open for ALL POSITIVE advice...

first, get the oil pressure measured.
second, change the oilpan. It will disturb the oilflow of the engine, this could be dangerous for the engine. Without knowing the bump.
Third, recheck the wiring yourself. Compare to a regular (ee8, euro code for B16A VTEC CRX). Should be the same wiring. The only difference from the wiring you already had is the 8 pin compared to the 6 pin old wiring connector on your distributor. And some wires going into your ECU. (Sorry, didnt see that you were running a SOCH earlier. Anyway, compare to a VTEC wiring, and measure voltage on each pin)
Whats weird is your coolant temp sensor, again. Check wiring! Measure if the sensor gets the voltage its supposed to get. If not, change wiring.

If you are spelling it "vtech" then we already have a problem.
It means you don't know what you are working with.
Vtec will never "pop" or "crack" or "hit" or any of that street ricer bullshit.
If it is operating at full efficiency, you wont feel it "pop".
Check the screen for your solenoid, bleed the coolent, make sure your VSS is good, and take your **** to a competent tuner in your area.
