Im thinking about tinting my hatch window and the two rear ones...Not crazy dark just a nice tint thats legal here in NY...anyone have any pics?

 

Here is a pic. I got my tint at California Tint in Sterling, VA. I'm not sure what the tint laws in NY is but mine is VA legal. The front is 50%, rear quarters are 35% and the back is 20%. I've had a state trooper use his tint-o-meter and passed.

i think 92-95 hatchbacks look 100% better without tint...just my opinion.

who cares if it doesnt look so nice. i live in NM and my tint is ***** beeotch sweet. it makes the 100 degree weather a little more bearable. go for it man. i like my tint. also, i like how mine looks. my friends 92 dx looks nice too.

i've got a white 92 four door, blacked out all the way around. it looks badass but it takes some getting used to. if there are no street lights you can't see anything.

 

So you like tint on HB's? I thought you didnt have tints on yours.

Thanks vntperformance, she's a work in progress. I still need a respectable paint shop in the metro area that won't rape me prices. She's not too good looking right now(anti-theft) but she's fast which matters more to me.

 

I don't like tints , but I had a real light tint on my first 93 4door civic. It looked real nice cause it wasn't too dark.

 

Dark tint is your friend kids. Yall need to get the image of cheap $10 wallmart tint out of your mind. Any car will look better with a good tint job.

 

I don't know why you'd get tint for looks, I'd want it to keep the damn sunlight out of my car.

 

why is everybody so against tint. it keeps the sun out and when done right it looks good.

 

I live in NY....actually legally you can barely tint the window...I think like 60 or 70% is what they call legal....oh well....here's pics of my civic with 20% tint...its the darkest I could get the guy to do them

That's right, and without A/C, that factor becomes pretty important. Mine also comes with a lifetime warranty and will never turn purple. When trying to make whoopie in the back seat, your chances of that happening increases with tinted windows unless she is a freak.

I don't think it's legal at all. With that said I have a slight tint all around. Just to keep it a little cooler in the summer.

Just don't drive like an *** and stay away from places like DPA and you'll be alright. Also if you do get pulled over flip on the over head lights so the cop can see inside and roll down windows and they shooudn't bug you about it.

I have probably the lightest tint they make so I don't get messed with.

yeah I got a ticket for my windows being so dark...but it was throw out when I went to court....I mean you'd have to get a real d@#k of a cop to actually pull you over for just window tint...usually they throw the window tint on when they are already ticketing you for something else.

 

Thanks for the responses and pics guys...I dont really like the all BLACK as can be tint except maybe on a black car..Im looking to get just a slight tint just for a little more privacy and keep it a lil cooler...I stumbled upon a pic of this black 92 - 95 hatchback lowered on black 96 gsr rims...Looks really nice with tints on it.. my brother has dark tints on his 4 door accord
