Default 400whp Turbo S2000

Just a couple teaser pics

Finishing up charge pipes, mounting intercooler at the moment
Tomarrow we finish all wiring and tune the car
Dyno chart up friday!

Turbo is T3/T4 57 trim stage 3 turbine
Should make for one very broad powerband

i'm sure you know this...but aren't turbo's supposed to be braced with heim joints to allow for thermal expansion of the manifold?

btw i like the fact that you have the battery and fusebox and (it looks like) the oil filter all in stock location. Is it just a log mani thou, or does it actually have a collector???

once the manifold heats up it will sag and crack because of the weight of the turbo. atleast that is what ive found with my other top mount kits,

Thus the brace to remove the weight of the turbo from the manifold

I have done many setups with braces very similar to this and never once had a problem

If you know the hood line of the s2k isn't very much higher than the valve cover and a heim joint setup that would properly suspend the turbo is impossible in this situation

The brace has some flex in it, it isn't 100% solid (1/2 inch mild steel tube) but is strong enough to keep the weight off the manifold so there will be no issues

btw this is a very similar brace setup to what I used on my personal setup that was boosting 16psi daily driver 465whp
I never once had issues and my manifold was alot longer which would have made things alot easier to flex

I would take a 400whp s2k with a flat 5k torque curve over a peaky 600 whp setup any day.

Ohh yeah dont forget the extra weight put in the front now makes getting traction harder

The day 2jz owners get their heads out their butts and quit using gt42r+ to make 600whp is the day I will quit ragging on them
You an slap a 60-1 on there and make 600 whp with a usable powerband, ohh wahh if your charge temps go up thats what a proper intercooler is for....

technically yes but instead of t's I did fit pieces which make a sorta collector that direct the primaries 2 and 3 to the turbo

So it should make slightly better power than a log while being as compact as a log

I'm in the process of doing almost that same exact setup on my friends AP1. Just wanted to give whoever did the welding for that blowoff valve on the charge pipe some mad props. That's an awesome weld if that is steel pipe, but if that's aluminum (which it looks like it is), that's some serious skill! That is cleaner than almost every robotic tig weld I have ever seen. Hopefully I will get some pics up some of the progress of the project I'm working on. Anyway, good luck with the project and post your numbers and boost levels when you get them.
