Looking for new clutch and flywheel
Im in the market for a new clutch and flywheel. I was thinking a stage 1or2 with a lightened flywheel. I do have some motor work done on my h22. Its allmotor, not turbo. I'm not looking to race on the track either, its just for street use. Any recommendations on setups?
I use Competition Clutch on my track car. I just installed a CC Stage 2 cluch on an 00 Prelude. The owner was very happy. Very smooth engagement, but still has enough grip to handle most mods. I'd suggest that clutch with a CC Ultralightweight flywheel.
Contact me if you're interested in a CC clutch.
I would stay away from eBay specials!

Because people think getting a stiff/more aggressive clutch is "modding" their car.
Sad to see people waste money on stuff they don't need.

Couldn't agree with you guys any more. I'm extremely happy with my excedy clutch. I would say just got full-faced disk like excedy if your just ripping around the streets.

If you do any type of performance driving, be very cautious with the Exedy organic clutch (either the racing clutch or OEM replacement). We've fried an Exedy "racing" organic clutch in less than one season on a track car that had nothing more than bolt ons.
I also use that exedy kit on my car, has been on my h23 and then swapped to my h22 when I did that. I drive street and drag strip quite a bit, never any slipping problems on mine! I did stick with stock flywheel though, have heard some issues with lightened flywheels developing hot spots easier and slipping with good clutchs.

For what type of driving? Many people complain of problems launching with lightened flywheels (8 & 12 lb) during drag racing, while others don't find it a problem.
The lighter the flywheel, the faster you'll rev.

I don't really drag race it, i mainly want good performance on the street and possible some auto-x in the spring

I spoke with a new friend/local shop owner today about Exedy clutches, and got the same response as to why Competition Clutch>Exedy clutch, anyday.
CC FTW.
