big tranny problems
the problem:
I can shift into gear without any problems, when i release the clutch to the pressure point to let the car move the car will move a little bit but i get a very rough knocking sound from the tranny as though somethings jumping. At first i thought it was the axles but we replaced the tranny with a b16 and it works mint.
We tested the car with the itr tranny with the car on stands under no load and it works without a problem. I get the problem in all gears, even reverse.
how it happened:
I suspect i've pooched my LSD because of numberous round abouts we messed around on (i.e. bald rear tire drifting) it actually blew on my when i was taking a left hand turn at redline in 1st.
We just pulled the tranny apart since the b16 tranny is now a mess, all the gears in the tranny are mint (save a slight grind on the 3rd gear)
we pulled the diff out and compared to a b16 diff (without disasemmbling) it works just fine, perhaps because there is no load, but we just can't find anything thats broken...
another question:
we put the b16 diff in the itr casing with the itr gears and there is a lot of play between the teeth on the diff and the gears (as opposed to the itr diff) does that mean i can't run the type-r gears with the b16 diff ** reason being we need a quick fix to get the car back on the road **
p.s. i spent the past half-hour searching H-T and i can't find anything.

Get rid of your car...
Why? Well how much sense does it make to go "bald rear tire drifting" in a FWD car? Then to do it to the point that a rear tire blows? Come d00d.. stop trying to impress the 15 years olds and the high school girls.
