First Gen CRX fans inside!!
Hey all,
Just purchased a 1987 CRX Si. Am I in the right place to get info about them here? I really need to know where to go to get some performance mods for them.
Also, I see a lot of info about swaps, and it looks like something I could do. However, I only see swaps for the 88 and up. I would love to drop one of those 130 HP DOHC engines into this little bitty car, but it appears to be out of fashion.
Anyways, if someone could point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks,
Chris

You can drop in a 86-87 Integra motor very easy, 88-89 teg motor will go in but with more work.
If you want to go the kit route you can get a mount kit and drop in a B series motor.
I even here there is a H22 powered first gen out there somewhere. Anything is possible if you have the cash.
I don't think there is an off the shelf turbo kit out there for sale anymore but you could go custom turbo just about as easy as a 2nd gen CRX or similar generation civic. You can also build up the stock motor and run pretty decent, there are a couple of well built 1st gens out there that have no swap and still eat b16 equiped 1st gens for lunch.

Also, resource.crx.org <------- I consider it to be the best source of info. for the CRX. Look for user cbstd, he's put together an extremely helpful first generation FAQ that should point you in the right direction. Best of luck!
Edit: The FAQ is available on Tom's website, listed above.
