what would you do??????????
ok i got a 90 si civic hatch with a full ls swap. what would be better for me to do
1.)get rid of ls trans and get b16 or b17 trans wit new clutch and light weight flywheel
or
2.)vtec head make ls vtec
money is tight so i cant do both now but will eventually but what would be better 1st

i'd probably switch the trans first. im a sucker for accelerated trans gearing.
kind of off topic, what is a "full" LS swap? is there a half LS swap?

I'd do the same. It's better to start something from the bottom up. It's only as strong as the weakest part. Slapping on the vtec head will only get you so far. A new clutch, flywheel etc. is a good investment.

Agreed. Tranny with a nice clutch and FW.
A friend of mine had swapped a DOHC ZC into a DX, and he kept the DX tranny at first thinking the Si gearing wouldn't make much of a difference. WRONG! The Si tranny really made that thing come to life.

Tranny for sure.
I ran a 14.57 with a basically blown up LS (burnt like 2 liters of oil in 10 runs) on a YS1 with an LSD. Even better, it did it twice. Threw a rod like 1 week later, but still. A tranny can make a car from slow, to fast, just like that.
Clutch/FW was also upgraded to a aluminum flywheel and a ACT stage 2 clutch. Thing was a beast for what it was/what I paid for (100$ for the engine).
The VTEC head shouldn't even be bothered with on an LS. LS engines don't react well to VTEC heads without some bottom end work such as rod bolts. I've seen to many LS VTEC going to 8500rpm and throwing rods. Also, LS VTEC are low compression engines unless you slap some PR3 or P30 pistons.
Look into it.

That's very correct
