Default GSR VTEC CROSSOVER INFO HELP

I would just like to know more about gsr vtec. Some say its dual stage vtec some say its not. I have a 98 GSR and i hear vtec crossover near 6000 rpm. I dont know if my vtec is workign properly or if its supposed to be like that. Also when im shifting, if i shift at 8200 rpm first gear, i get kicked out of vtec going into second. Is this correct?

VTEC point is 4400 RPM, secondary intake runners open at 5750.

Yes, most people hear the secondaries opening rather than VTEC engaging.

it's not dual stage vtec. the butterflies are in the intake manifold, completely unrelated to vtec which engages at 4400 rpm as mentioned earlier.

This is a fairly common question, you may have been able to find your answer with the search function. But most people commonly confuse the vtec engagement point and the butterflies, Padawan is right.

And it is a dual stage intake manifold, not dual stage VTEC, no such thing exists.

What mods do u have? I can plainly hear the vtec crossover at 4400rpm on my gsr, which has i/h/c/e. But around 5800 is where it really roars.

gsr does have dual stage vtec. First is at 4400rpm and second is 6000rpm. Even when u change ur intake manifold. I have skunk2 and it still hear both vtec. But after i change my ecu to a jun ecu, i only hear 1 stage vtec kicking in at 5800rpm which gives a really big boost.

is it possible to have the butterflies open around 6k and not have VTEC working? I feel or hear nothing change at or around 4400 rpm, but I do hear the butterflies open at 6000 RPM.
