how do you know what he wants? a 95 750 probably has a lot less power than a newer 600.

Power isn't everything.
The peak horsepower figures may look close but the power band is quite different. The biggest problem for a newbie is the extra 50+ pounds in weight, the low bars, high pegs, tall seat, and wide tank.

I know because I was in his situation.
And a 95 ZXR750 makes 121hp and 56ft/lb of torque. Try again.

race it against a new 600/636 ninja and see who wins.. drag racing/on a track. then tell me what's faster/more dangerous. and the power for a 1995 is not that much, try 104.3@11000rpm, with torque of 52.6@8750rpm. you try again.

It's his first bike. It doesn't really matter if it can't compete with a new 600, he's not going to be drag racing for mad tyte street cred. Hell, being almost 80lb more guarantees it'll be even slower than my F4i. There are many other factors:

I'm sure he likes the bike, he just hates Scott Russell.
BTW: A slight twist of fate kept a 1995 ZX7R from becoming my first bike. I don't know why but I still want one.

all i'm thinking is the dude's gonna get what he wants. i would think it to be a better idea to get a 12 year old bike as opposed to a faster more expensive newer bike that he'll probably resort to otherwise. the extra weight will make it a big harder to handle, but far from unmanageable i'd like to think.
thanks for your input. the only reason i was asking for pictures was because i know a guy who was selling one and i just wanted to make sure it was the same bike. He was getting rid of it for dirt cheap so i was thinking about it. I actually just found out a couple minutes ago that he had sold the bike already. which kinda sucks bc that would have been a nice bike. Plus his was all black not that green white and blue scheme.
