bullfrog head package
hi guys here is the situation. Some kid i know has a d16a6 head done by bullfrog with their head package. He wants to sell the head n is giving me a good price. The problem is that he is not selling the ecu. Can i get my stock ls ecu chiped n tuned to be able to run the head to its full potential or would it still not run right because its not bullfrog's ecu?

yes, you can get your ECU chipped.
the best bet would be converting to obd-1 and having it all tuned on the dyno. chances are you'd pick up even more power than some generic bullfrog chip.

A PR4 can be chipped and tuned just like any other P06/P28/etc... ecu, they all use a 1720 board

Unless you really know what you are getting, don't just buy something someone is telling you is badass,,,Know what I mean?
You can ALWAYS get an ECU tune for what is done to the motor at any competent tuner. And that will always be better than a baseline from a parts vendor.

Get your current OBD1 ECU Zif'd to accept chips... The owner of Prospeed burned me a custom map for my p28 to run my mini me a6/y8. Great chip and the mapping was great, but due to your sig I location status I am not sure if you are within the area.
Just be careful when picking an individual that chips, it can definitely be a shady bussiness.

I just LOL when I see local forums selling P06's for like $100 and then I buy a PR4 from someone parting out a 93 teg for $10
