How to get a better gas mileage on your Accord?
I made a topic like this before, but I can't seem find it under the search button. So here's what I remember from my last topic...
Keeping the PSI within the Tire pressure limit
Driving a Manual transmission (I think automatics give about the same mileage)
Driving like a granny; dont gas too hard and drive at least 60mph on the freeway.
Removing unnecessary weight
Keeping your cars engine stock as possible (though there are rumors about adding an aftermarket muffler or air filter gives better gas mileage)
Replacing Distributor caps
Replacing Distributor rotors
Spark plugs
Oil change every 3,000 miles (My friend has Royal Purple and it gets him a little plus on his gas mileage)
O2 sensor replacement
Replace fuel injectors
Warming up your car burns gas
Fuel filter
Air Filter
Spark plug wires
Please feel free to add anything on this list and I'll update it. I'm going to get my next tune up soon at 80K miles along with the change of the timing belt and water pump.

Driving with cruise control have really given me better gas milage. If there are hills, the cruise control will have a harder time keeping the pedal at a constant level, so when i am in rises and drops in the road, I drive manually. When the road is flat, I drive with the cruise control exclusively.
Driving with the windows up at any speeds over 40 MPH gives better fuel economy. Below 40MPH, I roll the windows down. Driving with A/C on the interstate gives better gas milage than with the windows down.

Windows up, A/C on @ over 50 MPH by Mythbusters episode 38 A/C revisited standards. What's 10 MPH eh!

I'd be curious just to know what the average MPG's most people get out of their Accord is anyway...
The best I've seen in my '94 EX, 2.2 VTEC, AT is about 30 MPG and the worst is around 25.
Anyone done better/worse??

"Driving like a granny; dont gas too hard and drive at least 60mph on the freeway."
not nessescarily true
in both of my accords I got the BEST gas milage at 70+
in the 94 it was 75 and in the 98 V6 it was 72. hwy MPG was 34
in my current car best milage is at 70 even @ 32MPG
The following statements assumes that you car is IN PROPER RUNNING ORDER
in most cases with hondas, keeping the RPMS under vtec engagement point will result in the fuel economy when in stop and go traffic. Personally I keep it under 3K and in the S, I still get pretty good accelleration thanks to it's broad and flat as mississippi torque curve.
fuel economy begins to drop off when engine efficiency is not as great as the drag imposed on the car and it varies from car model to car model and even within car models.
