H&R vs. EIBACH
Looking to get a set of lowering springs for my 98 integra GSR. I plan using them with my stock suspension until I need to replace my shocks. Keep in mind that I am using this car for street, and an upgrade is around the corner (once the stock shocks are no good.) What springs do you recommend? And is there a good place to find these brands cheap?
the two companies are really good manufactures...
as long as your dampers are still in good condition, the kits they design as oem upgrades.. the h&r sport and the eibach prokit would work fine.
where to get them?
It depends, look around at the sponsors section...
nolimit is pretty good, just ask around for the best prices...
also most sponsors know the products they sell, and can help you decide on what to get...
I've also read a thread, where people run h&r with koni yellows, and say that it rides really well, more refined than a koni/gc setup.
but since you just want lowering springs till your dampers let up, just get some springs..and worry about a full setup later.
unless you want to save some money, and just go for a full setup now....it really all depends on what your ultimate goal is for the car, and how soon you are going to reach it...

I'm sure the H&R Race springs would be good on Koni Sports (not on stock shocks), but my H&R Sports were junk on my Koni shocks. They were much too low and too soft. Perfromance was nowhere near my GC's on the Konis.
I say don't put anything on the stock shocks. Save up and get it all at once. I rode around for 8 months saving for my Koni shocks and H&R springs.

If I do throw sportlines or H&R sports on my stock shocks, will there be a negative effect when it's time to throw them on some konis? I'd like to get the whole setup at once but I just can't afford it right now, but I DEFINITELY don't want to ruin my springs before I can get new shocks.

Then wait?
Why would you want to tear it down twice?

I've used nothing, but H&R springs and I don't seem have any issues with them. My first setup was H&R Race springs w/ Tokico blues and that was a year ago and it actually road quite well. My new setup right now is H&R Limited Edition springs w/ Tokico Illuminas (Civic) and I like them. I like the progressive spring rates, they feel soft and yet still feels firm enough for turns. But then everyone to their own.

I've used both the eibach sportlines and the H&R sports on koni yellows. I also run the 22mm itr rear sway with the asr subframe brace & falken azneis. Both are quality springs, but I'm saving up for some GC's. The eibach's made my integra sit funny. The front was higher than the rear. They rode pretty well though and I never had trouble bottoming out. The H&R's are the opposite. My front is now too low. They also ride nice, but I have trouble bottoming out. I think that the rates on the H&R are better than the eibach's. Granted there are MANY factors in suspension geometery. The eibach's created a lot of understeer with my setup. The H&R's are more neutral. Also, I'm wearing through my front tires with the H&R's pretty quick due to the negative camber they have given me. GC seems like the way to go. This way I can get both the height and rates I want. I wish I would have just bought GC's in the first place...
