rebuilt poormans...finally done..one more question..
i just finished my engine and will be on this wkend.. i want to know if how many miles should i drive it so i can take it to get tuned by hondata...i dont want to blow this motor up so i want to know what i should do so its not running to lean or to rich...
i rebuilt a d15 and was told beat on it all u want jus dont let backpressure (dont rev the engine then let off the gas to let it slow down when driving.) ive also heard keep it under 3000-4000 rpms.

I hear the exact opposite of this, and i did the opposite of it when i broke my motor in, i let the motor slow itself down as much as possible and my motor is great.

dont rev up too fast or to high, dont rev down to fast either .... ride your gears dont just push the clutch in ..... but you need to rember, you cant do this all the time either, so when your going from stop sign to stop sign and your under 2k just push the clutch in when your above 2k ride the gears till your at 2-1.5k

you need to keep the rpms down, deffintally dont hit vtec and and initial start up make sure that it warms all the way up before shut down and if you are running any kind of turbo or something then you need to try and not run any boost untill it is tunned and make sure it is not running lean cause lean=melted pistons.

Step 1.) turn car on and allow to idle until at standard operating temperature (warm)
Step 2.) Do three or four redline pulls in second gear allowing the engine to decelerate itself.
Step 3.) return home and change your oil.
Step 4.) enjoy long engine life and superior compression.

He said "rebuilt poorman's" which suggests to me that he's had a poorman's type-R for a while and that he's already had the engine tuned. If you haven't been tuned, the tuner would be a good first stop - especially since the dyno is a great place for WOT pulls that will properly break in the motor

well its not tuned yet...my fauld i didnt inform that to you guys...well i got some info that was good and helpful...i called he place that im going to tune and he told me this...

As far as break-in you should put a stock GSR/B16 ecu in the car with stock injectors. Make sure the car starts and runs well first. Then you should take it out for a 5-10mile drive. During the drive run the car up to 5-6k then let off the gas a let it slow back down. You will do this a few times during the drive. NOTE: NEVER EXCEED 1/2-3/4 THROTTLE. The stock tune while it should run the car well most likely does not have enough fuel for full throttle. Then change the oil (non synthetic). Now your ready to tune.
We never tell you what to expect for Hp, we let the dyno tell you. I can tell you it will be the most reliable power possible

im going to breaqk it 5-10 miles then just follow the steps that the tuner gave me and take it on the highway to get tuned...wish me luck
i can anwser that for you...the reason to get tuned is because when you rebuilt it your not just goint to get the powere like that.. You need to get dyno tuned by a pro and let the dyno give the power you really have.. When you just put it in your car you need to upgrade your ecu to hondata because your stock ecu doesnt know what you have put in it...You've upgraded everything from a stock ecu so you gotta have it dynoed to hondata...
