When is the Diesel coming?
Hi,
Does anyone here know when the Diesel honda accord is coming? They did away with the hybrid and I saw on TV where there is 'a clean turbo diesel waiting in the wings'.
Anyone have any contacts at Honda with info?

It'll be in 2009 models which means that details should be coming out soon - I'm guessing that a lot more information will come out during the auto shows in January and February.

The 2.2CTDi diesel-powered Honda Civic, sold now in Britain, delivers 43 miles per gallon in town and 55.4 mpg in combined city-highway driving. The hybrid Civic manages only 50 mpg in combined driving, while a gas Civic averages 33 mpg. "We're leading the way to cleaner diesel engines," says Honda Chief Executive Takeo Fukui.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Personally, I'm hoping that it'll show up in the Odyssey or better yet, that they'll bring over the Honda Stream with a diesel... OK, that's a stretch, but it's possible. The Honda Stream is their 6 seater "microvan", like the Mazda5, obivously not sold in the US right now but available in other parts of the world.
And here's another interesting article though it's information is old (May 2006):
