1991 Accord EX 198k When I get out of the car I smell gasoline. There appears to be no leaks and the gas cap is new but not a real honda one.any ideas of what could be going on?

 

Look very close around the injectors, leaking o rings. Evap canister too.

 

Don't forget to look under the car, too. My '95 Integra started leaking from the fuel supply tubing that runs under the whole length of the car. Corrosion had just begun to perforate those steel tubes, & rather than leaking out all at once it just seemed to ooze out & make them sorta wet with fuel.

 

My dad had this problem with his 90 Accord. Bad lines right around the Gas tank.

 

hey, it could also be a sparkplug misfireing or the engine running rich due to a bad O2 sensor. though you would usually smell it the most when the car is at a stop. i have a 2001 that did that so even newer cars are affected my small this like this
