I'm working on a Accord with a tranny problem. The symtoms are when putting the car into D4 and accelerate it doesn't go anywhere. Like it won't go into first gear or something. So I put into D1 or D2 then it's able to go, then shift into 3rd and 4th gear.

Steps I have taken that I thought would solve the problem, I replaced the tranny with another and it does the same thing.

I'm thinking there might be a problem with the TCM, maybe even the ECU. It might a selenoid issuse.

Let me know if you ran into this problem before.

slightly educated guess, if it works manually, 1, 2, etc then I suspect a TCM / ECM. It should at least take off in 3rd for limp home mode, can you pull any codes, can the PRNDL switch be bad in D4? No R either. Can you go from 1 to 4 right away once you are moving, will it shift through all gears then, will it only go once you drop it into 1.
