Default Long term engine storage.

What all precautions do ya' need to take when storing an engine for an indefinate period of time?

Just the obvious... drain the oil, keep it clean and keep moisture off of it.

my dad put kerosene in a 460 that sat around for several years. when it came time to install it, he flushed, we put it in and it started right up. it runs till this day, very nicely might i add. man that is a huge motor.

best bet, put a teaspoon of oil down each sparkplug hole and rotate the engine over. Every 6 months spin the motor over 5-6 revolutions. Yes it will smoke on start-up, but the rings won't be seized.
