I remove the rearmost heat shield next to the gas tank?

My exhaust has nearly worn a hole in the shield and it's started rattling on and off. Apex N1. Anyone else have this problem?

Gas tank is a thermoset right?

your car wont blow up. I hear a lot of people do it and nothing has happend. When i get my cat back n1 ill be taking the sheilds off.....

 

I know it won't blow up it's a joke. Hahafunny.

I figure the exhaust pipes are cooler anyway due to my lack of catalyst.
