i have a set of ADR rims and they are white and their are are some curb marks on them i want to paint them and fix the curb marks

i never really painted rims before so any body have step by step directions to fix the curbmarks and to paint

i heard using body filler, sanding the filler until it is even with the rest of the rim and then prime if needed and paint away?

correct me if i'm wrong
