Default 91 crx rack and pinion replacement

hey guys, Was looking to replace my rack and pinion since i did my b16 swap. I had a wheel alignment done since i felt play in the steering wheel from side to side. After alignment i still have the steering wheel free play side to side. It does make a noise when i sometimes turn side to side. I can not locate a rebuilt rack and pinion online. I thought one time i saw RYWIRE sold a quick steer rack and pinion on there site but its not there and more. Any suggestions on where to find one????

the only EF quick steering rack maker is Quaife. im not sure if Rywire sells Quaife stuff, but if they dont, you can buy them from anyone else. id go thru rywire if you could tho. good guys.

if you buy a quicker steering rack, you will need to find a DX rack. its not compatible with the Si steering rack housing.

and you will end up having to "rebuild" the rack anyway. basically all that you can possibly rebuild on a manual rack is the rack end bushing, and the pinion bearing, and adjust the gearbox tension. that rack end bushing i am almost going to guarantee is the source of your steering wheel play, vibration and harshness. read about it in here.

and then dont forget to adjust the gearbox after youre done.

How do you adjust the gearbox? Is it the big bolt with the lock ring?? I removed this once cause i wasn't sure what it was. Could this be my problem?? what exactly does that adjust and control?

I got a rebuilt rack for my GS-R from APSCO through a local shop. The shop owner (goes to my church) says they are a small operation and always do quality work. They sell rebuilt racks for most all makes, and they always use factory Honda seals for Honda racks. I think they re-build them on a per-order basis, but it still only takes a few days to get them.

Not sure if they have a website, but a web search should be able to find it if they do.
