rotors
my OEM rotors are giving out and im looking for a good replacement that'll last longer than OEM ones. a plus if they perform better than OEM. so far im looking at autozone's Duralast brand rotors for $20 or so a piece backed by a 2/yr warranty. option 2 is powerslot's slot rotors which are $150 ish for the pair (unsure about warranty but this would be online purchase).
car is just a commuter. never seen the track or raced. im leaning toward the duralast cause their real cheap but never heard of that brand for rotors. which would you go with?

I think you get what you pay for. The duralast will probably be fine, but me I would just go with Brembo or a well known brand as such. The company I work at can get the brembos cheap.

Well, ask most of the guys that do Auto-X on the forum here, and they'll let you know the secrets to smart brake rotor shopping. If you know what type to buy, Advanced Auto brake rotors (Wearever models) will perform just as well as the Brembo's, and cost less than half as much. Hawk Pads and some stainless brake lines will definitely make your braking performance improve, as well.

Not true... I've seen and experienced plenty of Autozone and Advanced warped rotors. Not once have I warped Brembos. The wear is much better on them as well. I'm honestly surprised by this comment Matt...

check the auto-x section or braking section, it's true, they do use those rotors. also BrakeExpert on these forums who knows everything about oem honda brakes uses them - so they must be good.

Well I think I can probably speak for brakes on these things better than just about anyone else.
I've tried just about everthing... OEs, brembos, duralast, generic white box, you name it. They all suck equally.
I've cracked em all, warped em all, and hot spotted them all. Its a lump of iron that someone machines flat on both sides. Pick the cheapest box and buy them.
The car is heavy, the brakes are too small, you rag on em, they're not gonna last very long.
Not once have I had an issue since I put the 11" rotors on.

Maybe Todd00 and InanimateCarbonRod, should step in on this as well.
They're big into the Auto-X scene, much like Boilermaker1.

Throwing off your brake balance, ftl.

I dunno it's just not what I've experienced... and besides I only change my rotors ever so often now that I have the EM2. The CRX I was a little rougher on (***Slips into flashback***), oh those were the days.
But for the extra couple bucks, I'll spend it for my own peice of mind.

The Borowski brothers, multiple SCCA Solo D-stock national champions follow Boilermaker's train of thought. They buy the cheapest rotors out there.
As far as pads, go, the Axxis Ultimate Ceramic have really good stopping power, but you will have to live with a phenomonal amount of brake dust. Hawk HPS had almost as much stopping power without that much dust. I'm going to be trying the HP+ pads next (unless I get a dedicated autox car, then it'll be a whole different story).

I'm waiting for some company to do some research on coatings for wheels and other components under the fenders that will make it difficult for brake dust to land.
Maybe I need to contact Crisco?

They say car wax works.
One would think if you teflon coated everything, it'd slide right off, but I'd venture to say that's expensive. The bigger problem is not wiping it off dry, but when the dust gets rained on or wet that it cakes in and starts causing damage.
