Brighter headlights on a DA? Also, fog light question.
I was wondering whether there is enough extra current capacity in the wires to get away with 80/100 bulbs vs the 65/45 that seem to be stock. I do a lot of night driving on fairly deserted roads, and would really like to be able to throw a bit more light on the ground.
Also, how about the fog lights? Can they take brighter bulbs?
I would prefer not using an HID kit, mostly because they tend to mess with the throw pattern - I understand that 80/100 will put more light in peoples eyes than stock, but I think an HID kit would be considerably worse.
Also, I pulled off my fog lights and it appears that the bulbs are H3, as they are supposed to be, but the connector on the wire is round instead of a flat connector like it's supposed to be. I know the car is salvaged, and has some other oddities, is it just because of that or is there some other bulb that it's supposed to use? I can put a new (flat) female connector on the wiring harness if needed, but if there's a bulb that will just fit I would prefer that.

Nope thats the right connector for the bulb. If I were you I would buy a hid plug and play kit, And just upgrade the foglights to a yellow. The foglight housing on the da is plastic and so is the lens so higher wattage wouldnt be suggested. And typically a higher wattage bulb melts the harness. As a hid kit only draws about 35w. You should just get a lower temerature rated hid kit mabey like 5k if your worried about other drivers.
