exaust scrape
were i live there is lots of uneven pavement and ive had problems with my exaust scraping the ground ocasionaly but nothing to be to worried about. i want to get my car lowerd but im afraid i would have a real problem with scraping. does anyone have any sugestions about raising my exaust somehow (if thats even possible) , or some other way to help my car handle better without lowering it? your advice would be much appreciated
Sorry, I had to laugh. Mechanics around here get a real kick out of the expensive damage tuners cause when they lower their cars- torn out exhausts, damaged oil-pans, damaged suspension parts, expensive 8-spoke rims bent all to hell.
Build the car to match the street-freeway environment where YOU live. We also have rougher streets/freeways, and also snow. I made a comment here once I could still get the Accord around when tuners were regularly high-centering their cars over 6-8" drifts (packed and hard).
Of course some dick got nasty and commented he was lowered 3" and "still drove around in the snow". Maybe 2-3", but we get 12-24" in a hard snowfall here! (I even eventually garage the Honda and drive only the X-Terra !)
For these reasons, when I built my suspension I only dropped it 1" F/R. I also regularly see tweaked 8 spoke rims, so I went with HD forged rims (light, but a HD design).
I honestly get around when other tuner cars are sitting high centered over snow, or rolled half way down an embankment. And I could punch into a deep pothole and probably not bend the rims (but goodbye tire!)
Build the car for your streets! Suspension designs for nearly glass-smooth raceways often do not do well in the real world. I used to live in SoCal and could have built an entirely different suspension system there than I need here. Wrenchy

this might nt help but i get in situations like this like speed bumps n stuff. if you go slow enough and at an angle it should help reduce scraping and or eliminate heavy damage. jus try it.. n if sum ******* honks at you for going slow over stuff flip the basterd the bird n go on about you day.. I'd rather **** dude off than ruin my ride.
what kinda exhaust u got??? u can always do sway bars, struts bars, energy suspension kit...all that suspension stuff without lowering it. it'll look ugly though. u could go with bigger rims and slight drop and be around same height.
