OK, now I've searched for this and came up with nothing really helpful.
I have a 95 DX w/d15b7. I was considering a mini me swap, for personal reasons... so no hating on SOHC, or "why not go b16?" BS... I am considering this heavily right now.

I want to go all motor, with a nice CR. I want something with some decent power, and reliability. My d15b7 currently has 63K miles, so that shouldn't be an issue.

What should I get to complete a mini-me swap that would satisfy me? Which head, etc. and what is the real list of things i need to complete this swap? (i found different, varied lists in the search i did)

Might be cheaper to buy a 1.6 SOHC VTEC. They are only around $600.
The cost you will be about the same. U get extra 100cc and honda reliability.

Just a thought....
but if ur really bent on a mini me, somebody here might be able to help out.

 

yeah, that is also a possibility... I was just seeing how a mini me would be, and what I need.. I'd like to do something a little different than a straight swap.

i'd say just do a straight swap since you want reliablity. for that there's nothing better then placing a complete factory assembled engine in the car.

GET A b16 u NOOB! haha na, but seriously, there really isnt any type of LS vtec thing goin on in the SOHC world...if you want some good power outta a all motor SOHC get the VTEC d16

 

Uh, sure there is. I've got the VTEC 1.6 SOHC head on my D16Y7. Not worth the money and effort though...I ported my head and all that crap, probably did not help much....doesn't matter either way with a turbo. Throw a turbo on it though and you'll beat any NA Honda anyway!

yeah, I think I'm getting the D16 head this week or so.. then I'll probably have it milled.. maybe a P&P job..
