This is a bona-fide streetfighter. It's not a factory fighter and it's not a dumbed down, castrated version of what was once a popular race replica. It's loud, it's fast, and it's damn cool. It's also comfortable to ride.
I started the build from my 1999 CBR600F4 because it was uncomfortable. I was tired of knee cramps and back aches just from my commute. It didn't take long for the project to take on a life of it's own - I wanted it to be... nice. And Right. It grew into more than a more comfortable streetbike; I sorted small detail problems and took my time to make the details right (who in the heck decided it would be a good idea to ship the bike with green fork sliders?). The bike is done right and well sorted. Anybody who has ridden an F4 will tell you that what's left of the original bike, you know, the bike minus the plastics, Honda did right. The F4 is an excellent motorcycle (and the ride of choice in my house: two F4's and an RR between my roommates and I).
Oh, and I've had a Thing for Blitz Black for a couple years now. You won't have to worry about water, sun, or gas damage like you do for traditional satin/flat paints. Blitz Black is an oil based formulation that's as hard as a rock and more chemical resistant than... something really chemically resistant. It's also really easy to touch up.
All the little deatils have been taken care of, too. All the electrics have been lengthened to cope with the higher bars, a gauge cluster added (which has some awesome features: gear indicator, accelerometer, programmable display, programmable shift light, etc.), a larger battery since Honda put in something unbearably small, relocated cables and hoses, and so forth.
I'm selling the bike for a couple of reasons. I'm moving on to a different phase of riding (*cough*BMW*cough) and I'm actually, literally moving. I won't have a garage, just a single parking spot. This, unfortunately means cleaning out the garage of extraneous stuff - and I can't justify owning 3 motorcycles. I'm not letting it go for for dirt - I can fit 2 motorcycles in a parking space if it means not letting the bike go for an insulting amount of money - but I'm willing to talk about the price and what's included in the package. For everything that's included, that's everything in the pictures/what's listed I want $3,000. There are roughly 25,000 miles on the bike... original amount undeterminable since I no longer have the stock gauge cluster. I've seen F4's go to 5 times that and I've got no reason to believe this one won't. For just the bike and no spares I'd be willing to drop the price some. Make an offer if you're interested in that way.
I can be reached most any time at asteele2@gmail.com
I'm in Falls Church, I work in Vienna and I'm moving to Reston, so you can come look at your leisure. I will not ship the bike. Title in hand, approx. 25,000 miles. Bike is sold as-is. Cash only, please. If you come with a check you'll have to wait until it clears to take the bike. I will not ship the bike to Nigeria with your private shipper. I will not use your Perfectly Safe, Secure, and Excellent escrow administator. Just, you know, honest people only, please.

Just out of curiosity, did you polish up the lip of your front rim yourself? Im debating whether to get mine painted a matte silver color or to just go with a dull silverish/white wheel stripe

Drycells have a bunch of advantages, really. First of all, they've typically got higher CCA and ultimate storage potential than same sized acid types... not always, but the battery in the bike right now is a dry cell and 2 and a half times the size of the OEM unit. They're also not as temperature sensitive as their Wet counterparts - you won't have a problem starting this thing in the winter. They also don't lose capacity after a full discharge. Typical lead acids are not DeepCycle and thus lose the majority of their energy storage potential after their first complete discharge (I've read as high as 70%). Kill the drycell? Charge it and forget it.
Oh, and you can turn 'em any which way you want - nothing to spill. All BMW's have shipped with massive drycells since the mid 90's.. and that's where mine came from (BMW.. not a mid 90's bike).

They're not always bigger. You could buy something like the Odyssey PC310 and it's actually smaller than most motorcycle batteries. For most sizes/weights (by size I think they weigh in about the same), the drycells will deliver more power. BMW ships their bikes with big honkin', heavy drycells because their owners like high-draw electrical accessories. The bigger the battery the longer the bike can stay running when the stator is not making enough current to charge the bike (like at idle or slow rush hour traffic).
I used the drycell because I've had a lot of awful experiences with motorcycles and batteries. Putting a drycell battery in was my way of heading off any problems before they started.
