if you already have all skunk2 internals i woulc probably stick with the skunk2 theme, things seem to just run more smoothly when you run things together that were made to be together. just a thought though

Lose weight or pick up about 50 HP. The Toda C's are fine for a daily driver.

put your car on a serious diet and get better bolt-ons{intake,header,exhaust}to compliment those cams that love to breath

What kind of compression are you running? Toda C's from my experience work better on something higher than a stock GSR level. They will also require more tuning time to get them "right" than S2S2's but will make more power if your engine parts and tuning are well matched.

if ur comp is high enough than the toda c's would be a good choice but imo i would stick with skunk2. the toda c's have larger primary lobes than the skunk2 tuner series cams which is better for a high comp all motor setup but i dont think they would be the right choice for your setup.

thanks guys.... i don't have upgrade compression.....it seems like i'll stick with s2s2 which are cheaper. I had skunk2 stage1 cams and did not impress me much.

That graph is my old 84x87.2 motor from my Civic. I learned a lot from that little test that Jeff did. Toda D's are much bigger than C's and not really a street cam.

Well... if you’re contemplating running the Toda C's then you might want to think more about running the Skunk2 Pro 1's. I think this more fair a comparison.

Things you want to have prior to swapping the cams...

Bump in compression (thinner head gasket, maybe flat faced valves, and/ or mill the head).
Skunk2 IM
68mm T/Body
4-1 Header (maybe a DC JDM Type R unit)
70mm Exhaust
Re-tune

this thing will sing! You should be in the 190-200 range.

instead of all that, how about a
b20 bottom end
rs or sparks b20 type r style pistons
edelbrock pro-flow header w/2.5 collector mod
use whatever exhaust you're already using
retune

even with the current cams, you'll get 210-215 and a crapload more of torque.

^^^here are what i have

b18c1 (70k)
Skunk2 stage1 cams
Skunk2 pro valvetrains
Skunk2 70mm throttle body
skunk2 pro-series intake manifold
DC sports JDM header 2.5 collector
2.5" OBX cat
2.5" exhaust (tanabe)
exedy stage 1 clutch + flywheel
3" CAI
Crome tune

Now i need bigger cams or higher compression.... i want to make at least 180hps

You will need one or both of these...

Compression and/ or Displacement

Running that B20 bottom end would change all kinds of stuff! I was at Church and a guy from the Valley was tuning his stock bottom end LSVTEC and running our Pro 1's... he made 218 and it was all chocked-up on the exhaust side.

i would still do the edelbrock pro-flow header. it will OWN the jdm dc header. a lot more midrange and atleast 3-4 hp more up top.
