Nice numbers man. It's cool to see someone make good power from the greddy 18g. How much boost were you running?

Good to see you broke 300 whp like you wanted to. Just imagine how much more power you would make with a 3" catback.

dave tuned my 18G setup last year, i maxed out the internal gate and only made 273hp.

How does the 18g respond differently to the external gate? what PSI was the final numbers?

I loved the spool on the 18g on the street, once the boost was cranked up the turbo sounded so much different.

Great numbers

the 18g efficiency with the external WG is changed exponentially.
there is virtually no lag time and it pulls and pulls.
i used to have the internal (obviously) and personally, i can say if you want no lag time and are ready for real efficiency, go with the external wastegate.

dave is the ****!

biggest improvement for my greddy kit was the v-banded discharge with a 3in downpipe and of course the tune...
my old setup if you are interested

urban -
does the vband actually add horsepower for making everything more stable and causing less movement play from the turbo? or what?
i can't believe you're not spiking with that internal wg. that's crazy.

and yes, suprdave is the man.
i wouldn't go anywhere else.

lawl. actually me and dave were talking about it, and i don't have a gauge in there so we weren't able to determine it.

BUT. could you explain why fuel pressure is so important? i remember him mentioning something about it, but i couldn't quite pick it up.

If your turbo is internally gated, just weld the flapper shut and buy a manifold built for an externally gated turbo. You can pick those up along w/ the wastegate in the Sponsor's Marketplace

any manifold will work as long as it has a port for a 38mm wastegate, but be sure the person building the manifold knows what kind of turbo you're using and builds the downpipe accordingly....and for the flapper, you can go to any welding shop and tell them to weld it shut
