JDM SiR C.F. Hood
Today my metal JDM hood flew open and wrecked it. So now I would like to do a Carbon fiber one. I'm looking to get the best fitting one I can find. Any help or experiences w/ any are apprecited. Links too if you got them. Thanks.
hey the SiR EF9 hoods (JDM ) dont fit on the factory USDM place,..... its sits bad and with gaps and ****.... how u manage to have it like factory liek u said they fit??? unles u did a whole front end conversion!?!?!?!? let me know thanxs
Yup,me 2 too, they respond me with that answer,as the SIR hood is made for the USDM car.
That's why I was very interested in.
As for a JDM hood.
Took that from crx board:
That the hood is about 3/4 longer towards the front.
The JDm front bumper is more rounded in the front, so the hood
is longer and more rounded than the US hood.
Also, you will have about 3/4 of an inch gap between the hood and the
headlights. The JDM headlights are roughly 3/4" longer towards the
center of the car.
I Have the whole JDM convertion with the Carbon Fiber hood.
If you can get the JDM headlights, plus some work on the bumper to
make it all work, it should look fine.

I have a metal jdm sir for sale. $150 and you will have to pick it up. I'm located in Philadelphia which is a 2 hour drive from ny. Let me know.
if youre looking for a real deal JDM SiR carbon fiber hood of quality, check mine out....its a ViS hood and its a great hood..the edges are rolled and the carbon fiber continues underneath the hood. the quality is great, the hood is solid and since the edges are rolled, it doesnt look like the carbon fiber was cut and sanded down around the edges...did that make sense? oh wells...**** it...lol check out the pics...

To answer everyones questions, One, I do have the whole SiR conversion. Two the Hinges did hold it to the car and yes it did take out the windsheild. As far as how the latch let go don't know but I'm guessing it's the poor design on an old latch. And to ian, That hood does look sweet. I am definately going to look into ViS. Thanks everyone for the input. Think I found the hood to buy.
my hood flew up like that too. it totally fucked the topand the winsheild. i was wondering if that **** happened to yours too or just the glass. if it did hit your top how did u fix it or how are u planning on fixin it???

First off, let me get one thing understood. If you have the JDM front end, then you can get the JDM Sir hood. If not, you have to get the ZC hood. Either way, I got one for my red CRX and it came from http://www.jdmhondaparts.com. I love it. The only problem with it was the sides liked to flap at higher speeds. So I went to auto zone and bought hood pins for the sides and it works just perfect.
Good luck on finding what you need and sorry to hear about your old one.
