alright heres whats up. i have a few months til my lease is over. my dad is gunna be helping me buy my next car, which i want to be an R. well today he asked if i would consider buyin a s2000. what should i do. i want a R soooo bad and have for years but an s2000 is so damn nice. opions, good/ bad for each, please help guys

Wow, you're lucky... The most my parents will do, is give me their signature so I can get lower payments.

The "S2000 Versus Type-R" debate is on going. It honestly comes down to personal preference, if you ask me. Myself, my choice is made, I chose the Type-R over an S2000, for many reasons.

Anyway, is theft bad in your area? Do you have a garage?

(1) Looks like you should take what's being offered.
(2) Be careful, S2K's can be a little twitchy at the limit, though I understand the NEW ones are a bit better in that respect.

i dont think theft is that bad round here, nothing has happend in years o i guess thats good. no i dont have a garage..unfortunately. i love the R but at the same time i like the s2k. i would only want the white with red interior s2k that first came out, thats the only one i told him id take.

 

DUDE u kiddin me! just buy most expensive S2000 ur dad is willing to pay for, drive it for little bit then sell it and buy nice ITR plus bunch of good parts with all that exra $ u'll have left

im 19. i would hate to take advantage of him but that is a great idea. i feel bad he's buyin it so i told him once i get thru the police academy and make some money ill pay him back, so i guess im not really takin advantage huh? the only down fall to the s2k that i see is the parts are so expensive compared to R parts. plus if i got an s2k, i would make it a hardtop asap

Probably the best first mod you can do to the car, good stuff. Mugen Hard Top with some NSX spec MF10s would be tasty. ...and close to $10,000 lol

i love the mugen hardtop but i dont think im down for spendin about 5grand for a roof, i would put that into the motor anyday

lol yes the hardtop was but not a top that costs 5grand. thats a bit more than i want. i just want a roof, a roof that much better print me money or sumthin. **** if i am going to spend 5 grand, im doing as much engine work as possible

Yeah man, down the road after you're done paying on the S get an R or something. IMO

 

the s2000 is faster and is convertible. You cannot really get a lot of power out of it with just bolt ons however and the parts are expensive.

The R is more friendly around the corners and more forgiving. You gotta ask yourself what you want....if its just bling, which one is nicer in your own opinion?

If its for track, the R has more mods out there for cheaper and its history speaks for itself.

If its DD, I'd get the newer S2000 and make it bling haha.
