Default aero skirts do not fit

i think i might have purchased 04-05 skirts on my 01 coupe. It looks like it fit but upon installation it does not fit. its a tad bit smaller and won't go in all the way.
Can anyone confirm this or am i nuts?

01-05 sideskirts are all the same. fitment wise. the length of the sideskirts are the same between coupe/sedan. you may need to keep doing some persuasion to get it to fit.

yeah they are aero sides, and yes you do need the metal clips or else the sides dangle from the middle...

it should fit IMO.

the shop removed the metal clips... then tried to push it in using only the two bolts on both sides. they told methe clips were from the old car... and that they would have to make new clips for me...
so am i trying to push it into fitment or using those clips, they should fit better? I think they must have thrown those clips away...

thanks for that matt, i will print this up and bring it into the shop.
so i was playing aruond with it just now, and is the back side supposed to lap over the fender into the wheel gap like the front? I noticed the back didn't have holes for screws like the front. We were trying to cram in the front AND the back side, and that is why it probably didnt fit. Is the back supposed to NOT go into the wheel area and still live a slight gap like this picture?

It's supposed to go in the wheel area.

but there aren't any holes in the back of the skirt nor is there an area large enough for screws inside the inner fenderwell. They say no drilling is required. It just does not fit if both sides are in the inner fender well. But if only the front is in, and the back is out like I have pictured, it fits perfectly. including where the door is supposed to be and all that, but there is about half an inch left over that the skirt does not cover...

and the instructions say nothing about the back fenderwell, just the screws on the front..

thanks again

and check out my car! with just the front lip!

did you put screws in the back?
when you mean tuck in, do you mean actually over lap, similiar to the front?

No screws, i meant overlap in the back. Like in your pic, it dosen't quite reach, in mine is did reach and we had the brackets under the car tighten down. does this make sense????

yes! i saw your car and fell in love with the aeros! i have the vinyl decal running lower than what you have, but great minds think alike. (actually it was already like that when i bought it)
but your car's stance is too nice. I'm on 2 finger gap S techs...
One day I will live in a place with nicely paved streets and I can slam my car. I already scraped today on a this dip thing 5 hours after installation..
I'm saving up for some coil overs, but it might not matter since the streets here seriously suck

btw, what is your front and rear?

on the rear, it goes over the fender area like you said but you don't drill anything, there's some double side tape that is behind the top part of the sideskirt that you would make sure it sticks securely to the body of the car.

since i bought this used, the second screw are already in. I think this is what is keeping me from perfect fitment. It just doesn't seem to line up to the door correctly, and my rear inner fenderwell doesn't seem like it can hold up the end of the flap of the skirt. but perhaps its the clip's screw sthat is blocking it.

i got it to fit better today now that i actually took the time to screw on the front section. The door fits alright, but I still have a slight gap left on the back. Perhaps it shrunk or something or I'm not pushing on it hard enough... But thanks again guys, good thing I came back to the shop to pick the side skirts up after they told me it "didn't fit", they would have thrown it out!!!

hey am i supposed to lift the fenderwell up and put the side skirt under it (so side skirt is wedged between plastic and fender well) or do i just put the side skirt on top and screw the screws back?

The fender liner gets sandwiched between the skirt and the body panel.
