how hard is it to play with coil overs
how hard is it to raise/drop a car to a certain amount? Im thinking about TEIN BASICS on my em2. Can I drop the bottom more than the front?
Yes, they are completely height adjustable. All you need is a jack, some jackstands preferably, and a gun or torque wrench to get the wheels off. Use a tape measure and the provided tools tein sends and you can raise/lower your car pretty easily. I've done it like 3 times to my integra with my Tein SS coilovers and it only takes 10 minutes or so now for all four when adjustment is necessary.
are there certain **** or sockets or something to ensure that all 4 sides are the same height or am I the one responsible for exact measurement? Do you need an alignment each time? I won't be raising or lowering constantly, but i just want to be able to if my lip kit scrapes too much. I'm at a 2 finger drop now with s techs and stock shocks and want to just replace it when my shocks go bad, and why not have the option of going just a tad bit lower. I don't want to slam it but i would appreciate a 1 finger drop..

It just takes trial and error. If you set all 4 spring perches to the same height, it won't be the same height at all 4 corners due to different corner weights. Height from ground to fender can vary by as much as 1/4" to 1/2". So you set the initially, and then adjust each corner up and down to get it to the final height you want.
Also you shouldn't need to remove the wheels. I used to adjust my Ground Controls without removing the wheels.
And yes, you need an alignment any time the ride height changes. So best bet would be to get set how you like it first, and then get the alignment and leave it that height.

I would never use a torque wrench to unfasten anything unless the torque wrench is totally unserviceable as a precision calibrated tool, then it's just a fancy looking ratchet, in which case by all means use it as such.
"Playing" with coilovers is easy and very intuitive once you handle them.
