Sound under hood/wheels...Maybe wheel bearing/CV??? Help
It started Saturday afternoon. I got off work and came home to wash the CRX. I started out to a friends house, and the worst sound I have ever heard started coming from under my CRX. I pulled over and checked under the car...nothing. I popped the hood, and nothing seems to be dangling in plain view.
I don't know what it is, and it's really hard to explain..but I'll try my best. Think of like a chain dragging against the ground, and combine that with the sound of like metal clanging against my CV's. It does it at random times, and I have no control of it. If I hit a bump, it might start and go for a few secs..or a few mins. It goes away when I stop, but that's it.
I jacked the front end up yesterday and took off the passenger wheel. I checked all undercarrage bolts, and nothing seems to be loose. I also put it up on my friends ramps today, and we checked again. I had some electrical tape hanging down, but removing it did nothing... On a plus note...I found a missing bolt holding the bottom of my tranny to the bottom mount... I'm replacing that tomorrow.
Everything seems to be tight, but it is still making the sound. If I take off my shift boot, it sounds like it's coming from right up under the car, but I can't locate it at all. I can't see anything hitting against the CV or anything, but I don't know.
I know my CV makes a clicking noise when it's wearing out, but that was just when I was turning. I just changed my right CV about 3 months ago, and not sure on my drivers side one. With the amount of noise it's making though, I don't think I would be able to drive if it was the CV.
Has anyone had any similar noise, or might have any ideas on locating the noise? I'll see if I can get a recording of it tomorrow/Wednesday so you guys can hear it. Until then, I'm hoping the sound doesn't suddenly stop leaving me stranded with some important bolt fallen out...

[UPDATE]
After having a co-worker ride around with me a little bit today, we have come to the conclusion that it might be a wheel bearing or a CV. I just changed the right CV about 4 months ago, but don't know when the left side was changed. I'm going to get under her tonight and see how the left CV looks. Does anyone know which CV (Can't remember) that I would use on the left side if I do need to change it (90 Integra?), and has anyone had any experience with changing a wheel bearing out before? I haven't had one go before, so this is going to be yet another first that I'm looking forward to...

honda charges about $40 for a new wheel bearing. pull out your axle, and suspension, then remove the entire front spindle assemby and take it to a shop with a big press. they can remove the old bearing and press in a new one for about $30. that was my experience with my friend's 95 CX.
